Mrs. Moore, 68, formerly of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly in Gainesville, FL, on Friday, March 9, 2012. Lanie, as she was referred to by all her family and close friends, will be remembered for her love of her son and his family, brother and sister, aunt and friends. She could always find a smile while enduring several medical issues, and through her faith she will be reunited with Christ.
She leaves behind to honor her memory her son, Michael (Robyn) Karstrom, and two beautiful spirited grand-daughters, Lanie and Lily of Gainesville, FL; her brother, Michael (Sharon) Moore, and nephew, Brandon of Sumter, SC; her sister, Claudia Porter of Largo, FL, and nephews, John (Kim) Jolly and son Mason of Walterboro, SC and nephew, Donald (Melissa) Maetchle of Charlotte, NC; and her remaining Aunt, Lillian Kaufmann, of Savannah, GA, who meant so much to her throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar C. and Lois B. Moore.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Harry & Bryant Company, 'Chapel in the Oaks,' 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service.
The family asks that in her memory and love of pets any donations be made to HSUS (Humane Society of the United States), NSAL (North Shore Animal League), American Kidney Foundation or your local animal shelter.
