Comments:

I served in the U.S. Navy from 10/30/61 to 03/29/66. After service, I drove a semi-eighteen wheeler cross country until June 12, 1973, when I had an accident in Pennsylvania, and lost three fingers on my right hand.

I got into the real estate business in Charlotte in 1976 after medical treatment, and have been in this field since that time.

I worked in Charlotte, then moved to Asheville, NC, and managed the old Northwestern Bank Building. I then left Asheville and moved to Birmingham, AL, and worked for a bank in properties and facilities.

I then moved on to Los Angeles, and worked for a big real estate firm, and lived there two different times in my career. I came back from Los Angeles to Birmingham for a few years, then off to Florida, where I lived the first time in the early 80's, then back to Los Angeles for a second time.

I moved again to Florida for a second time in 1991, and have been here since then.

My first wife, Brenda Summey Gibson (Pat and Jackie Gibson's younger sister), died in 1972 and I remained single from then until 2006, when I married a second time. That marriage lasted until April, 2010 when we divorced.

I own, but don't ride very much, a Harley Road King. I am currently working for a real estate development firm in Boca Raton, FL as the Director of Property Management and Construction. I just began my eighth year here in late October, 2010. I live in a small city located equidistant between Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, called Delray Beach. It is near Boca Raton, FL which is familiar to a lot of people.

I had prostate cancer in 2001, and have been cancer free since then. I am tested every six months.

I have grown a pony tail for nearly six years now, as I still have all my hair (LOL).

An interesting note during my military service, the ship I was on, which was based in Charleston, SC, was participating in the Cuban Missle blockade during late October, 1962. We intercepted one of the Russian ships with missles heading to Cuba, and forced it to turn around and retreat. All the Navy members who were involved in the blockade received an Armed Forces Expeditionary Campaign medal which was neat.

I have been through several hurricanes since I have been in Delray Beach. The first one, Andrew, hit down south in the Miami area in 1992. There was lots of wind damage to trees and roofs where I live. There have been several other bad hurricanes through my area since 2004. We had both jurricanes, Jean and Frances, and then in 2005, we had hurricane Wilma. I lost the roof on my house, and had major water damage in the interior of the house, as well as lots of damage to my car and pick up truck from blown off roof shingles. Going through a major hurricane is not a fun thing to experience. I installed a big diesel powered generator at my home in 2009, and am now ready to go through the next hurricane with electric power for the air conditioner, and other comforts; i.e., like the refrigerator and lights, etc.

Well that's a little about me, so I will leave it at that. I hope my schedule will permit my attending the 50th Reunion. I would truly enjoy seeing all my classmates fom HHS, 1961.

I was last in Charlotte in January, 2005 when my Mother passed away. The city has surely changed dramatically since I left there in 1976, that's for sure.

I would enjoy hearing from anyone that wishes to call or send an email.
