She was one of the nicest persons I ever knew.  Once when traveling back to Nashville to college, I ran into Jackie and a friend at the bus station in Ashville where she was in nurses' training.  I had a long layover late at night.  Her friend put Jackie and me in a taxi and sent us to her dorm and later sent me back to catch my bus to Nashville. (If you had ever been in that station during that era, late at night, you would understand my gratitude.)

Jacque was one of my best friends for most of my life.  Her mother went to school with my father and we lived only a block away from one another all through our school years.  After she graduated from nursing school in Asheville, she and husband Joe Spray moved with their family to Lancaster SC where my first husband, son and I lived.  Our first-borns were boys only a month apart so they grew up closely bonded.  Three generations of friendship enjoyed.

I spent time with Jacque during her last illness in Charlotte hospitals and at her home in Lancaster.

Jacque accomplished a lot during her lifetime.  A Masters in Nursing and years of service with the South Carolina Public Health Dept.  Two sons, a daughter,  a stepdaughter and 5+ grandchildren.  A life well-lived and I miss her so.
